Florian Kaulich graduated in Economics and in Development Studies at the University of Vienna, Austria, where he is currently pursuing PhD studies in Economics. His research interests include the determinants of international trade specialization patterns, the impact of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) on host countries, and the relationship between trade and FDI. Since 2008, he is working as a research consultant for the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) at their Headquarters in Vienna. His current work for UNIDO comprises data collection and analysis for Africa Investor Surveys. The work involves conducting surveys and interviews with foreign and domestic-owned companies to investigate the economic impact of FDI and designing evidence-based investment policies.
